Parish UPDATE: Sunday, January 18

Here is what is making news in our parish:

1THIS WEEKEND  AT ST. MARY
  • Sunday, January 18:  The Second Sunday after Epiphany 
  • Please, pick up your 2015 Pledge envelope after Mass on Sunday
2.  THANK YOU:
  • To all who have signed and returned their PLEDGE CARD. There are a few still outstanding, please, remember to send in yours now.
  • To all who have filled and returned their Parish Survey Card. The report will form part of our business agenda at our parish's Annual General Meeting onSunday, January 25. 
  • Thank you for making the mission and ministries of this parish possible.

3.  UPCOMING EVENTS 
  • Annual (Parish) General Meeting: Sunday, January 25 at 11:30 am. We will meet in St. Joseph Hall. This is a POTLUCK event, so please, bring some food and beverage to share. 
  • An exciting Christian Education program for 2015. More details soon.
  • Registration for First Communion Classes for both English and Spanish congregations are now open. Please, contact Fr. Juan Barragan at PadreJuanBar@gmail.com or at the parish office 
5.  LENT AT ST. MARY: 
  • Lent begins on Wednesday, (Ash Wednesday), February 18. We have three services at 8 am; 12 noon and 7 pm. It is not too early to begin looking for the palm branches given to you last year. We'll need them to burn for the ashes to be imposed on Ash Wednesday.  An appropriate time is being worked out for the Hispanic congregation. More details later. 
  • Quiet Days are being planned (for Lent) and more information will be available next week. 
6.  OF YOUR CHARITY, PLEASE, PRAY FOR:
  • Continued healing for Gerda, Anthony Jo, Fr. Anderson. Obed.
  • all travelling at this time: Debora and Russ

  • Fr. Juan Barragan is now in charge of the Hispanic Community at St. Mary as of Sunday, January 4. Misa (Mass in Spanish) is still at 1 pm on Sunday.. 
4. UPCOMING EVENTS 
  • Feast of the Epiphany, Tuesday, January 6. Mass at 7 pm. Please, bring your family and friends and join us in this very important feast of the Church. We should be done by 8 pm

Christmas at St. Mary

 CHRISTMAS AT ST. MARY:
  • Christmas Eve: Carol singing begins at 10 pm to be followed by Mass at 10:30 pm
  • Christmas Day: Mass at 10 am
  • First Sunday after Christmas: December 28:
    • (English) Mass: 10 am
    • Misa (Mass in Spanish): 1 pm
    • POTLUCK EVENT: On Sunday, December 28 we will celebrate our parish community at our Christmas party, say farewell to Fr. Federico and welcome Fr. Juan and Petra Barragan. We will gather at 2 pm in St. Joseph Hall. Bring lots of food, some light beverage and a festive spirit.. 
  • FR. FEDERICO/FR. JUAN BARRAGAN:
    • Fr. Federico, who has nurtured our Hispanic community at St. Mary from day one, will be leaving St. Mary at the end of December 2014. His last Sunday here will be on December 28, The First Sunday after Christmas. 
    • Fr. Juan Barragan will be in charge of the Hispanic Community at St. Mary as of Sunday, January 4. Misa (Mass in Spanish) will still be at 1pm on Sunday.
  • New Year's Eve: No Mass in the evening but church will be opened until midnight for private prayers and meditation. 
On my own behalf and on behalf of the Wardens, Vestry, Staff here at St. Mary, I would like to express our sincerest gratitude to you for making the ministries and mission of this parish possible for the year.

May the God who took/takes on our humanity, be the source and focus of our hope, joy and love this Christmas season and everyday.

Parish UPDATE: Sunday, December 21

Here is what is making news in our parish:

1THIS WEEKEND  AT ST. MARY
    • Saturday, December 20:  The third (and final) in our series of Advent Quiet Days. We begin in St. Joseph Hall at 10 am and finish at 12 pm
    • Sunday, December 21: The Fourth Sunday of Advent. 
    • PLEDGE CARD: Please, pick your 2015 Stewardship Campaign package, fill in the pledge card and return it to the church by Sunday, December 21. Thank you for making the mission and ministries of this parish possible
2.   FR. FEDERICO/FR. JUAN BARRAGAN:
  • Fr. Federico, who has nurtured our Hispanic community at St. Mary from day one, will be leaving St. Mary at the end of December 2014. His last Sunday here will be on December 28, The First Sunday after Christmas.
  • Fr. Juan Barragan will be in charge of the Hispanic Community at St. Mary as of Sunday, January 4. Misa (Mass in Spanish) would move to a new time - 1:15 pm on Sunday.. 
3. UPCOMING EVENTS 
  • PARISH WORK DAY:
    • Saturday, December 20 after the Quiet Day and also on Sunday, December 21 after the 10 am Mass if need be. Please, join us in this project. We will need all the help we can get. 
  • POTLUCK EVENT; On Sunday, December 28 we will celebrate our parish community at our Christmas party and say farewell to Fr. Federico. We will gather at 2 pm in St. Joseph Hall. Bring lots of food, some light beverage and a festive spirit to cheer everyone. 
4.   CHRISTMAS AT ST. MARY:
  • Community Christmas Tree decoration: all day, Saturday, December 20 in our plaza
  • Community Christmas Sing-along: Sunday, December 21 from 4 to 5 pm around the Christmas tree in the plaza
  • Christmas Eve: Carol singing begins at 10 pm to be followed by Mass at 10:30 pm
  • Christmas Day: Mass at 10 am
  • Misa (Mass in Spanish) at 1 pm
  • New Year's Eve: No Mass in the evening but church will be opened until midnight for private prayers and meditation
