Here's what's happening THIS WEEKEND AT ST. MARY'S:

1.  SATURDAY, AUGUST 25: "Songs of Faith" with Tender Mercies, 

  • featuring the music and gifts of Soraiya Campbell and Michael Anderson. 
  • Time: 6 pm to 7 pm. 
  • We will meet in the chapel every SECOND and FOURTH Saturday of the month. 
  • People of faith and no faith welcome. Spread the word and bring a friend

SUNDAY, AUGUST 26: THE FOURTEENTH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST

2.  MASS SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEK: Morning Prayer at 8:45  & Mass at 9 am
  • Monday, August 27: Gallaudet & Syle
  • Tuesday, August 28: Augustine of Hippo
  • Wednesday, August 29: Martyrdom of John the Baptist
  • Thursday, August 30: Charles Grafton
  • Friday,  August 31: Aidan & Cuthbert
  • Saturday, September 1: David Oakerhater

3.   BIBLE STUDY on Wednesdays at St. Mary's:
  • Class meets from 6:30 to 7:30 pm.
  • We meet in the Sacristy. Enter from the parking lot off Watseka Ave.
  • Our current study is focused on the Gospel according to St. Mark.
  • No previous Bible knowledge required
  • We are using the NIV 2011 translation.  We'll have a Bible for you if needed. 

4.  UPCOMING EVENTS:

    FREE Summer Movie Nights
    Join us this Saturday, August 18 and EVERY OTHER Saturday at 6 pm for our Summer Movie series.

5.   PARISH RUMMAGE SALE
  • Saturday, September 1: 8 am to 2 pm
  • Items include small electronic items, rare items, delicious tamales, pupusas, etc.
  • Now accepting donations. Call Fernando at 310-490-0008 if you have donations.
  • Proceeds benefit our outreach ministries especially the Hispanic Ministries 

6.  99TH ANNIVERSARY OF OUR PARISH
  • Join us on Sunday, September 9, 2018, - the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary - as our parish celebrates 99 years of continuous and active ministry in God's kingdom and particularly Southern California.
  • Bilingual Mass at 11:15 am.
  • Spread the word; bring the family.

7.  CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS OF OUR PARISH
  • On Sunday, September 8, 2019, our parish will by the grace of God, celebrate 100 years of continuous ministry in God's reign and especially in Southern California.
  •  This month, we are praying and thanking God for the sterling christian witness, faithfulness, stewardship and commitment of former parishioners who made our ministries/mission possible in the (year) 2000s
  •  If you are a former parishioner or know of one, please, let us know so we can pray and thank God for you/them by name.
