1.  THIS WEEKEND AT ST. MARY
  • Saturday, June 22: Palms Neighborhood Clean up and Outreach - 10 am to Noon. Gather at Fire Station # 43 on Motor Ave and Regent St. 
  • Sunday, June 23: Fifth Sunday in Pentecost 
2. NEXT SUNDAY: June 30:
  • Sixth Sunday in Pentecost.
  • Thursday night Bible Study is on hiatus for the summer. 
3. OF YOUR CHARITY, PLEASE PRAY FOR:
  • Continued healing for Bianca, Robby, Kay, Tom, Anthony Joseph, Gerda, Sister Rosina, OSH, Margaret Gottschalk, Norma Guzman.  
  • Our Palms community that it will be safe for all residents and businesses
  • The Executive Board of the Palms Neighborhood Council
  • Our Confirmation candidates: Yasmine, Natasha, Kevin, Audrey, Michelle. 
  • Our youth volunteers and their plans for the summer
4URGENTLY NEEDED:
  • A team of four people to lead the patronal feast refreshment project.Project includes sign-up sheet, coordinating food, decorations - outside of church and in St. Joseph Hall. If you can help, please, talk to Fr. Vincent or Fr. Federico ASAP. 
  • Donations towards flowers for the Sept. 8 patronal feast.
5MINI CURSILLO: Saturday, July 20
  Here's an opportunity for you, your friends and family to deepen your faith and passion for Christ and his    church. Join us here at St. Mary at our first Mini Cursillo led by Rev. Lyn Crow and the Emmanuel Episcopal    Church, Fullerton.

6.  UPCOMING EVENTS: 
  • Funeral service for Beatrice Boggess on Saturday, July 6 at 2pm
  • EVENSONG: Tuesdays and Fridays at 7 pm in the Chapel.
  • Graduation of Jai Joseph on June 28 with a BSN degree.
  • Saturday, Sept. 7: Parish work day to clean, set up the church and St. Joseph Hall for the 2013 edition of out patronal feast.
  • Sunday, Sept. 8: Patronal Feast. Service begins at 11 am with a grand procession in our neighborhood followed with Mass. Bishop Diane Bruce will preside, preach, confirm our six candidates and receive several members of the Hispanic congregation into the Episcopal Church and St. Mary.Refreshment will follow the Mass. Please, note: parking will be a challenge so plan on arriving early. Service will be bilingual - Spanish and English.
  • Saturday, Sept. 28: The 2013 edition of our Neighborhood Block party/carnival. We will also have the ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially declare our new plaza open for use. Events start at 11 am with setting up beginning at 10 1m. Join us in celebrating our magnificent community.

  • Sunday, July 7: Regular class on Reconciliation of the Penitent
  • Sunday, August 4: Regular class on The Creeds
  • Saturday, August 31: First Confessions; walk-through of the the Sept. 8 Confirmation service; Beach bonfire and picnic at Dockweiler Beach. Almost-end of Confirmation project
