Parish UPDATE: May 19


Beloved of God and of this parish:

1.  THIS WEEKEND AT ST. MARY:
  • Saturday, May 18: Next in the Desire of the Nations movie night series. Screening this Saturday is the documentary"The Story of India, part 5" from 6:30 to 8:30 pm Let us learn about the history and cultures of the places our parishioners come from. Please, tell and bring your friends. 
  • Sunday is Pentecost Day. Give thanks for the work of the Holy Spirit in our personal lives, in our communities of faith and in our secular communities.
  • VESTRY MEETING immediately following Mass. 
  • Graduations: Vincent [UC Berkeley] on Saturday, May 18; Obed [Putnam North High, Oklahoma] on Sunday, May 19
  • Class on Prayer & Meditation: To be taught by our very own Julia Bergstrom on Sunday, May 19 following Mass. No previous experience needed, only hearts and mind willing to deepen their prayer life. Please, tell and bring a friend
  • We welcome Rev. Canon Connor Lynn, Rector Emeritus, our Guest Celebrant and Preacher on Sunday, May 19.
2. NEXT SUNDAY: MAY 26:
  • Trinity Sunday. 
  • Parish Forum: Conversation on the Feast of the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ also known as Corpus Christi. .

  • God's comforting and strengthening presence for all who are overwhelmed with work and the challenges of life.

  • EVENSONG: Tuesdays and Fridays at 7 pm in the Chapel.

Parish UPDATE: May 12


Beloved of God and of this parish:

1.  THIS WEEKEND AT ST. MARY:
  • Saturday, May 11: Next in the Desire of the Nations movie night series. Screening this Saturday is the documentary "Nollywood Babylon" from 6:30 to 8:30 pm Let us learn about the history and cultures of the places our parishioners come from. Please, tell and bring your friends. 
  • Sunday is Sunday after Ascension Day. 
  • We will also commemorate and celebrate with thanksgiving MOTHER'S DAY. 
  • Newcomers class immediately following the 10 am Mass. We will meet in the plaza in front of the church.Meetings last for 45 minutes. Learn about our faith, our church, the ministries of this parish and how to grow your own faith
  • Follow-up meeting of the All-parish leadership meeting held at the Cathedral Center on April 27. We will meet in the patio area at 12 pm. We'll be over by 12:25 pm. Please, plan on attending and be prompt so we can finish on time for the Spanish Mass.  
2. NEXT SUNDAY: MAY 19:
  • Day of Pentecost: Sunday, May 19. Please, talk to Phyllis if you would like to read the lesson in a non-English language on this Sunday. Passage to be read is John 20: 19-23. Please, bring your own bible.

Parish UPDATE: May 4

1.  THIS WEEKEND AT ST. MARY:
  • Saturday, May 4: Next in the Desire of the Nations movie night series. Screening this Saturday is the documentary "Nollywood Babylon" from 6:30 to 8:30 pm Let us learn about the history and cultures of the places our parishioners come from. Please, tell and bring your friends. 
  • Confirmation Candidates will meet with Sr. Emily Beata, Daughters of St. Paul, at the church from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. Please, plan on being here before 9:15 so we can start on time.
  • Sunday is Sixth Sunday in EASTER.  
2. JOINT EUCHARISTIC SERVICE WITH GRACE LUTHERAN:  This annual event is scheduled forThursday, May 9 [Ascension Day] at 7 pm. The special offering at this Mass will go to support the work of SAVES. Please, tell and bring a friend.
