Parish UPDATE: Sunday, March 9

Beloved of God, I would like to invite you to the observance of Holy Lent and assure you I will be praying for you by name every day of Lent.

Here is what is making news in our parish:

1. THIS WEEK AT ST. MARY - SUNDAY, MARCH 9:

• First Sunday in Lent. 

• Service begins on Sunday with the GREAT LITANY at 10 am

2.    LENT AT ST. MARY: 

• Weekday: Morning Prayer at 8:45 am; Mass at 9 am

• EVENSONG at 6 pm on FRIDAYS

• Stations (Way) of the Cross at 6:30 pm on FRIDAYS   

3.  THANK YOU:

• Deep appreciation and thanks to everyone who responded to the call and donated towards cost for replacing our kitchen sink. As at last count, we have with the help of the Try God Group of the AA, raised all the money we need to replace the sink. Thank you for your generosity. Work should begin in a week or so. Will keep you posted.

3.    LENTEN/COMMUNITY MOVIE SCREENING: SPREAD THE WORD!!!

4.  DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME:

• Please, remember to move your clocks, watches, FORWARD one hour by 2 am on Sunday, March 9 or you will be late for all your appointments

5.  CHRISTIAN EDUCATION AT ST. MARY

• March 2 to April 6: Rehearsing for the "Harrowing of Hell" play

• April 27: Performance of the play: "The Harrowing of Hell" at the 10 am Mass. Cast is needed. multi-generation preferred. If interested, talk to Debora Shuger ASAP.

• May 4, 11, 18, 25:  Anglo-Catholicism

• June 1, 8, 15, 22, 29:  Church and Music

• July: on vacation.

• August: visits to holy sites in Los Angeles.
