Here is what is making news in our parish:

1THIS WEEKEND  AT ST. MARY 
  • Sunday, May 24: The Day of Pentecost
    • We will read the Gospel passage of John 20:19-23 in English, Twi, Ga, Italian, German, French, Anglo-Saxon and Spanish. 
    • Wear red if you can!!!

3BIBLE STUDY: Every Tuesday from 6:45 to 7 : 45 pm. 
  • We meet in the Sacristy.
  • We are studying the Book of the Acts of the Apostles 
  • No experience necessary. 
  • Bring your Bible and your buddies.
 
4.   UPCOMING CHRISTIAN EDUCATION MATERIALS

5.  MOVIE NIGHT: Saturday, June 6 from 6 - 8:15 pm
  • We will be screening the movie SELMAA chronicle of Martin Luther King's campaign to secure equal voting rights via an epic march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama in 1965.

6  UPCOMING EVENTS 
  • FREE BILINGUAL DISASTER AWARENESS COURSE: Sat., May 30
    • Organised and sponsored by the Palms Emergency Preparedness Coalition (PePC) and taught by the Los Angeles Fire Department [LAFD]. Our parish is a member of this Coalition. 
    • Venue: The Palms Elementary School, corner of Motor Ave and Palms BlvdLos Angeles.  
    • Time: 12  to 2 pm. 
    • Opportunity drawings will be made at the venue on the day of the event. Win a prize for your family and collect free materials.
    • Light refreshment will be served at no cost to participants. Spread the word and invite your friends.

  • safety for all working on the Expo Rail Line
  • continued healing for Gerda, Anthony Joseph, Fr. Anderson, Thomas, Patrice Gonzales, John Nolan, Nora
  • Belinda and Akshay
  • all who are battling any form of cancer and all involved in research work to find lasting cure for cancer and Alzheimers
  • all in our parish who are graduating this May and June from various academic programs and institutions, especially, Belinda, Larry Jr, and Jeffrey. Congratulations!
