Greetings. 

Here's what's making news THIS WEEKEND  AT ST. MARY'S 

1. SATURDAY, MARCH 12: DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME
  • Please, remember to move your clocks forward by one hour before 2 am on Sunday, March 13
  • Remind your friends and family members too about Daylight Saving Time 

2SUNDAY, MARCH 13:  THE FIFTH SUNDAY IN LENT
  • Mass begins with the praying of The Great Litany.
  • Invite your friends and buddies to church this Sunday and every Sunday.

3.  BIBLE STUDY: (English edition) Every Wednesday from 6:30 to 7: 30 pm. 
    • We meet in the Sacristy.
    • We are currently studying the Book of Proverbs 
    • No experience necessary. 
    • Bring your Bible and your friends 
    • Spanish Edition: We meet on Friday from about 7 pm either in the Chapel at St. Mary or in a parishioner's home. Please, call Fr. Juan (213-434-0476) for more details. 

4.  LENT AT ST. MARY
    • Daily Mass at 9 am (all holidays included).  Morning Prayer at 8:45 am
    • Stations of the Cross: Fridays at 9:30 am and 6:30 pm
    • Lenten Book Study: C. S. Lewis, The Screwtape Letters

5.  HOLY WEEK AND EASTER SERVICES AT ST. MARY
    • Sunday,  March 20: Sunday of the Passion (Palm Sunday). Liturgy includes singing of the Passion Gospel. Misa (Spanish) at 1:30 pm
    • 7 pm, Thursday, March 24Maundy (Holy) Thursday. Liturgy includes the rite of the foot-washing and meditation at the Altar of Repose. 
    • 7 pm, Friday, March 25: Good Friday Proper Liturgy. Liturgy includes praying the Solemn Collects, the Veneration of the Cross, Communion from the Pre-sanctified. 
    • 8 pm, Saturday, March 26: Easter Vigil. Liturgy includes lighting of the new fire, the singing of the Exsultet, ending with Mass.
    • March 27: Sunday of the Resurrection. Mass at 10 and Misa (Spanish) at 1:30 pm. Liturgy includes administering the Sacrament of Baptism to Logan Jackson Merryman 

6.  FAITH FORMATION CLASSES T 11:30 AM
    • Debora Shuger, Ph.D. is leading our classes on C. S. Lewis' "The Screwtape Letters" .
    • Requirements: 
      • get your own copy of "The Screwtape Letters
      • encourage your friends and buddies to attend classes with you.
      • Spread the word.
      • come to the class. We meet in the Lady Chapel.
