Here is what is making news in our parish:

1. THIS WEEKEND  AT ST. MARY:  

• SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 6:  FIFTEENTH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST

• Invite your friends and buddies to church
• Weather will be hot, please, stay hydrated.

2.  UPDATE ON BR. DEREK FORD, SSF:

• Br. Derek is now resting comfortably in the Franciscan Friary surrounded by his loving and caring brothers Franciscan and a Hospice Care team. 
• In the meantime, I ask that you keep in your prayers the Franciscan Friars especially, Br. Jude, Br. Hughes, Br. Antonio, Br. Ambrose Cristobal, Br. Ivanildo, Br. Dunstan, Fr. Thomas Carey and Mr. John Ford (Br. Derek's brother).
• Contact phone numbers for SSF, Lincoln Heights are:

• Br. Ambrose's cell # 323-371-2906 to arrange for visitation times. 
• Let us love and care for Br. Derek to the very end taking our inspiration from Jesus "having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end"..John 13:1

3.  FEAST OF THE BVM: PATRONAL FEAST - SEPTEMBER 13:

• Please, join us on Sunday, September 13 as we celebrate our Parish's patronal feast.  
• There'll be only ONE Mass for the day - Bilingual Mass at 11:30 am
• POTLUCK EVENT.
• Please, help to set up, bring food and help clean up. Sign up sheet in St. Joseph Hall.

4.  BIBLE STUDY: Every Tuesday from 6:30 to 7: 30 pm. 

• We meet in the Sacristy.

• We are studying the Book of the Acts of the Apostles 

• No experience necessary. 

• Bring your Bible and your friends

• Saturday, September 26 from 11 am to 3 pm. The 4th annual Faris Drive Block party. All kinds of volunteer help urgently needed. Please, talk to Fr. Vincent, asap.
