Parish UPDATE: Sunday, December 14

Beloved of God and of this parish:

Here is what is making news in our parish:

1THIS WEEKEND  AT ST. MARY
    • Saturday, December 13:  The second in our series of Advent Quiet Days. We begin in St. Joseph Hall at 10 am and finish at 12 pm
    • Sunday, December 14. : The Third Sunday of Advent. Notice the changes in our worship service for Advent, including the lighting of the Advent candle and the Sprinkling rite. Join us for our Masses at 10 am (English) and 1 pm (Spanish).  
    • PLEDGE CARD: Please, pick your 2015 Stewardship Campaign package on Sunday, fill in the pledge card and return it to the church by Sunday, December 20. Thank you for making the mission and ministries of this parish possible
2.   FR. FEDERICO:
  • Fr. Federico, who has nurtured our Hispanic community at St. Mary from day one, will be leaving St. Mary at the end of December 2014. His last Sunday here will be on December 28, The First Sunday after Christmas.
  • Please, join us in a celebration on Sunday, December 28 at 2 pm at the church, to celebrate and thank him for his ministry with and among us.This is a potluck event, so bring some food and beverage to share. 
3. UPCOMING EVENTS 
  • POTLUCK EVENT; On Sunday, December 28 we will celebrate our parish community and say farewell to Fr. Federico. We will gather at 2 pm in St. Joseph Hall. Bring lots of food, some light beverage and a festive spirit to cheer everyone.. 
  • ADVENT QUIET DAYS: 
    • December 20. 10 am to 12 pm each Saturday. Last in the series.
    • Br. Derek Ford, SSF, will lead the Quiet Days. Join us.
  • PARISH WORK DAY:
    • Saturday, December 20 after the Quiet Day and also on Sunday, December 21 after the 10 am Mass if need be. Please, join us in this project. We will need all the help we can get.      
4.   CHRISTMAS AT ST. MARY:
  • Community Christmas Tree decoration: all day, Saturday, December 20 in our plaza
  • Community Christmas Sing-along: Sunday, December 21 from 4 to 5 pm around the Christmas tree in the plaza
  • Christmas Eve: Carol singing begins at 10 pm to be followed by Mass at 10:30 pm
  • Christmas Day: Mass at 10 am
5.  OF YOUR CHARITY, PLEASE, PRAY FOR:
  • Continued healing for Gerda, Anthony Jo, Fr. Anderson
  • all travelling at this time: Sean, Debora
  • a cure for the Ebola disease. God's blessings on the work of Health Care professionals working in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia. For all who have died in the Ebola pandemic and for their families as they mourn.
  • Our youth: Natasha, Vincent, Simone, Audrey, Michelle, Larry Jr, Jeffrey, Yasmine
