Here is what is making news in our parish:

1THIS WEEKEND  AT ST. MARY
  • Saturday, February 28: In commemoration of Black Heritage month and the Season of Lent, we will have the screening of the movie: "Freedom Now." Colonial rule is overthrown in India and AfricaLength: 60 minutes. Color. DVD FormatVenue: St. Joseph Hall. Time: 6 - 7 pm.
  • Bring your family and buddies
  • Refreshments will be served.
  • Sunday, March 1. The Second Sunday in LENT

3.  BIBLE STUDY: Every Wednesday from 6:45 to 7 : 45 pm.

4.  LENT AT ST. MARY: 
  • Daily Mass at 9 am
  • Stations of the Cross on Fridays in Lent from 6:30 to 7 pm
5. LENT BOOK STUDY
  • A GROWN-UP LENT  by Joanna Leiserson
  • Our classes continue this Sunday,  - from 11:30 am to 12 pm

6. DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME:
  • Sunday, March 8.
  • Best to move your clocks one hour forward Saturday night (March 7)
 7. LENT/BLACK HISTORY MOVIE NIGHT: Saturday, March 28 - 6 to 7pm
  • We will be screening the movie "A Man for All Seasons"Adaptation of Robert Bolt's play about Sir Thomas More, a Catholic statesman in England who rebelled against Henry VIII's self-proclaimed status as the head of the Church of England and paid for his religious beliefs by having his head exhibited on London Bridge.  Run time: 120 minutes.

  • Refreshments will be served.

  • Sunday, February 8: The Fifth Sunday after Pentecost
  • Meeting of the Lay Discernment Committee beginning at 11:30 am

  • We are currently studying the Gospel of Mark
  • No experience necessary. Bring your Bible and your buddies.
4.  LENT AT ST. MARY: 
  • Lent begins on Wednesday, (Ash Wednesday), February 18
  • We have three services at 8 am; 12 noon and 7 pm. 
  • It is not too early to begin looking for the palm branches given to you last year. We'll need them to burn for the ashes to be imposed on Ash Wednesday.
  • Stations of the Cross on Fridays in Lent from 6:30 to 7 pm. beginning on February 20.  
5. LENT BOOK STUDY
  • A GROWN-UP LENT  by Joanna Leiserson
  • Classes begin on First Sunday in Lent - February 22 - from 11:30 am to 12 pm.
  • Pick your copy of the book as soon as they become available.
