Parish UPDATE: Sunday, December 31

Here's what's happening THIS WEEKEND  AT ST. MARY'S

1.  SUNDAY, DECEMBER 31. THE FIRST SUNDAY AFTER CHRISTMAS
    • Thanking God for all who made the ministries and mission of this parish possible in year 2017. May Almighty God replenish all you spent on our parish and may God bless you where you need it most in your life at this time.
    • Praying especially for all whose lives have been severely impacted by the recent fires in Southern California
    • Please, invite your friends to church
    • Wishing you all a very happy New Year. 

2.  MASS SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEK: Morning Prayer at 8:45 and Mass at 9 am
    • Monday, January 1: Holy Name
    • Tuesday, January 2: Samuel Azariah
    • Wednesday, January 3: William Passavant
    • Thursday, January 4Elizabeth Seton
    • Friday,  January 5Feria
    • Saturday, January 6THE EPIPHANY (Mass at 7 pm)

3.  NEW FLOORING IN ST. JOSEPH HALL
    • Thanks to the efforts of many benefactors who went beyond the call of duty in their giving to God's kingdom, we now have a new floor in St. Joseph Hall. The carpeting that was in St. Joseph Hall has served us well for 28 years!!
    • While we acquire and install protective studs on the tables and chairs often used in St. Joseph Hall, we ask that you help in protecting the new flooring.

4.  BIBLE STUDY on Wednesdays at St. Mary's:
    • Class meets from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. 
    • Class resumes in January, 2018
    • We meet in the Sacristy. Enter from the parking lot off Watseka Ave.
    • Our current study is focused on the Gospel according to St. Mark
    • No previous Bible knowledge required
    • We are using the NIV 2011 translation.  We'll have a Bible for you if need be.

5.  POTLUCK SUNDAY, DECEMBER 31
    • This is the last Sunday of year 2017, Please, bring your favorite dish to share at our post-Mass refreshment beginning at 11:15 am.

6.  A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU
    • to all who came along to sing carols for John and Vicki after Mass last Sunday.
    • for making the mission and ministries of our parish possible in 2017May God richly replenish what you generously shared with our parish and its ministries. 
    • We pray you would consider partnering us in 2018 to help share God's good news of reconciliation and build the kingdom of God
    • Please, do not forget to pick up your tax deductible letters from the Parish Office early in the New Year. If you have spent any monies on behalf of our parish, the Vestry would like to encourage you to let Petra have receipt of your expenses asap so it can be credited towards your generous gifts to our parish.

    • Sunday, January 28: The 99th Annual Parish General Meeting beginning with Mass (Part 1) and finishing with Part 2 in St. Joseph Hall following Mass
