1. THIS WEEKEND AT ST. MARY:
- Saturday, May 11: Next in the Desire of the Nations movie night series. Screening this Saturday is the documentary "Nollywood Babylon" from 6:30 to 8:30 pm Let us learn about the history and cultures of the places our parishioners come from. Please, tell and bring your friends.
- Sunday is Sunday after Ascension Day.
- We will also commemorate and celebrate with thanksgiving MOTHER'S DAY.
- Newcomers class immediately following the 10 am Mass. We will meet in the plaza in front of the church.Meetings last for 45 minutes. Learn about our faith, our church, the ministries of this parish and how to grow your own faith
- Follow-up meeting of the All-parish leadership meeting held at the Cathedral Center on April 27. We will meet in the patio area at 12 pm. We'll be over by 12:25 pm. Please, plan on attending and be prompt so we can finish on time for the Spanish Mass.
2. NEXT SUNDAY: MAY 19:
- Day of Pentecost: Sunday, May 19. Please, talk to Phyllis if you would like to read the lesson in a non-English language on this Sunday. Passage to be read is John 20: 19-23. Please, bring your own bible.
- Graduations: Vincent [UC Berkeley] on Saturday, May 18; Obed [Putnam North High, Oklahoma] on Sunday, May 19. Give thanks for our youth who are advancing in their chosen academic fields. Pray for Larry Jr. [UC Davis] and Simone [NYU] as well as Jeffrey, Natasha, Audrey, Yasmine and Michelle.
3. OF YOUR CHARITY, PLEASE PRAY FOR:
- Continued healing for Bianca, Robby, Kay, Tom, Anthony Joseph, Gerda, Bea, Sister Rosina, OSH, Margaret Gottschalk.
- God's comforting and strengthening presence for all who are overwhelmed with work and the challenges of life.
- Our Palms community that it will be safe for all residents and businesses
- The Executive Board of the Palms Neighborhood Council
- Our Confirmation candidates: Yasmine, Natasha, Kevin, Audrey, Michelle.
4. UPCOMING EVENTS:
- FIRST AND THIRD SATURDAYS: Desire of the Nations Movie Night at 6:30 pm. We'll be watching movies from or about the various countries our families come from.
- BIBLE STUDY: Thursdays at 7 pm at the church.
- EVENSONG: Tuesdays and Fridays at 7 pm in the Chapel.
- Class on Prayer & Meditation: To be taught by our very own Julia Bergstrom on Sunday, May 19 following Mass. No previous experience needed, only hearts and mind willing to deepen their prayer life. Please, tell and bring a friend.
- Feast of Corpus Christi: Thursday, May 30. Mass will be at 7 pm
