"A taste of Cursillo": Saturday, July 20

'A taste of Cursillo' to be offered 
on Saturday, July 20

A mini-Cursillo, led by the Rev. Lyn Crow and a team from Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Fullerton, will be held at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Palms, Los Angeles, on Saturday, July 20, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. The event is free of charge and includes lunch. 

To register, contact the Rev. Vincent Shamo at 310.558.4124 or stmaryinpalms@yahoo.com by 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 18. Space is limited. Cursillo is a program designed to deepen participants' faith and passion for Christ's mission in the world. More information about Cursillo is here

  • Sunday, Sept. 8: Patronal Feast. Service begins at 11 am with a grand procession in our neighborhood followed with Mass. Bishop Diane Bruce will preside, preach, confirm our six candidates and receive several members of the Hispanic congregation into the Episcopal Church and St. Mary. Refreshment will follow the Mass. Please, note: parking will be a challenge so plan on arriving early. Service will be bilingual - Spanish and English.
  • Saturday, Sept. 28: The 2013 edition of our Neighborhood Block party/carnival. We will also have the ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially declare our new plaza open for use. Events start at 11 am with setting up beginning at 10 am. Join us in celebrating our magnificent community.

2.  CONGRATULATIONS: To Jai Joseph, on receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Our parish was well represented at the Graduation service by friends of Jai, her family and her parish.
