2.  MINI CURSILLO: Saturday, July 20 [SPREAD THE WORD!!!!!!!!]

4. URGENTLY NEEDED:
  • A team of four people to lead the patronal feast refreshment project.Project includes sign-up sheet, coordinating food, decorations - outside of church and in St. Joseph Hall. If you can help, please, talk to Fr. Vincent or Fr. Federico ASAP. 
  • Donations towards flowers for the Sept. 8 patronal feast.

  • Our Confirmation candidates: Yasmine, Natasha, Kevin, Audrey, Michelle. 
  • Continued healing for Bianca, Robby, Tom, Anthony Joseph, Gerda, Sister Rosina, OSH, Margaret Gottschalk, Victoria
  • Our Palms community that it will be safe for all residents and businesses
  • The Boggess, Thomas, Potterton and Burleigh families as they mourn the death of their loved ones.
  • Safety in travel for Peter, on a Mission in Bali.

  • EVENSONG: Tuesdays and Fridays at 7 pm in the Chapel.
  • Saturday, Sept. 7: Parish work day to clean, set up the church and St. Joseph Hall for the 2013 edition of out patronal feast.
  • Sunday, Sept. 8: Patronal Feast. Service begins at 11 am with a grand procession in our neighborhood followed with Mass. Bishop Diane Bruce will preside, preach, confirm our six candidates and receive several members of the Hispanic congregation into the Episcopal Church and St. Mary. Refreshment will follow the Mass. Please, note: parking will be a challenge so plan on arriving early. Service will be bilingual - Spanish and English.
  • Saturday, Sept. 28: The 2013 edition of our Neighborhood Block party/carnival. We will also have the ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially declare our new plaza open for use. Events start at 11 am with setting up beginning at 10 am. Join us in celebrating our magnificent community.

  • Saturday, July 27: Field trip to Aquarium of the Pacific
  • Saturday, August 10: Field trip to Los Angeles Zoo

  • Special Vestry Meeting following Mass. We will meet in the Rector's Study
2.  CONGRATULATIONS: To Jai Joseph, on receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Our parish was well represented at the Graduation service by friends of Jai, her family and her parish. 

3. NEXT SUNDAY: July 7:
  • Seventh Sunday in Pentecost.
  • Confirmation Class following Mass. Subject: The Reconciliation of a Penitent

1.  THIS WEEKEND AT ST. MARY:
  • Saturday, May 18: Next in the Desire of the Nations movie night series. Screening this Saturday is the documentary"The Story of India, part 5" from 6:30 to 8:30 pm Let us learn about the history and cultures of the places our parishioners come from. Please, tell and bring your friends. 
  • Sunday is Pentecost Day. Give thanks for the work of the Holy Spirit in our personal lives, in our communities of faith and in our secular communities.
  • VESTRY MEETING immediately following Mass. 
  • Graduations: Vincent [UC Berkeley] on Saturday, May 18; Obed [Putnam North High, Oklahoma] on Sunday, May 19
  • Class on Prayer & Meditation: To be taught by our very own Julia Bergstrom on Sunday, May 19 following Mass. No previous experience needed, only hearts and mind willing to deepen their prayer life. Please, tell and bring a friend
